Brunei Darussalam is keenly aware on the importance and legacy of SEAMEO as a pillar of cooperation, knowledge sharing, and educational excellence in Southeast Asia for the past six decades. Thus, the Minister of Education said it was a privilege to contribute to the journey as education systems across the region not only rebuilt from the impact of global disruptions, but also expanded to meet the rapidly growing demands of the world. Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh stated the matter during the Plenary Session of the 53rd SEAMEO Council Conference.  It took place at The Empire Brunei, 2nd July morning.

 

The three day conference covered four meeting sessions. The conference also saw the handover of duties of the President of the SEAMEO Council from the Secretary of Education of the Republic of Philippines to Brunei Darussalam's Minister of Education which takes effect for a period of two years starting this year.
